XOXO Inspired!

This card was inspired by the XOXO challenge at Alphabet Challenge.

I've had an XOXO die on my table for a year, and when I saw this challenge I knew I had to play along.  But I had to find some images in the theme.  I dug into my bag of Lawn Fawn images and found this cute little skunk who was near the top because I had just created a card with skunks a few months ago.  So I set out to color him and make him "real".

I ended up digging into my Lawn Fawn stencils to create my background.  I tried a sort of screen print watercolor technique that I like to use.  Essentially I pick up the water and color onto my stencil, and then flip it to get the stenciled images to show.  The water collected near the heart openings, and I managed to get a few good impressions of some hearts.  I stamped some XOXO's into a few of them, and then set out to create my scene.

Hardest part of this card was finding the XOXO die, because while I had that nice pink sparkly one on my table for a year, I felt my skunk deserved a shadow behind the XOXO to tie him into the scene.

This was a fun one - especially that background.  Inky fingers!

I hope you find some time to ink up those fingers.

Feel Better Soon

Went with a rainbow of colors for this get well card that was inspired by the prompt at Little Red Wagon which was "feel better".

I had a lot off fun making this trail of rainbow colors around my leafy vine. The black border and sentiment give it a nice pop.

I have to think that rainbow colors make anyone feel better.

 Create a rainbow!

With a Cherry on Top

Created this card using the color prompts at Seize the Birthday. The current challenge was to create a birthday card and red, white and one other color.  I chose green for my card and grabbed an old card kit in my stash that had some cherry pattern paper.

I've really been trying to use up my stash of card kits.  Oodles of boxes with coordinating paper, dies, stamps and sometimes embellishments just crying out for my attention. Some are older than others, but no expiration date!

Go use your stash!

You Are Peachy

I've been a bit lax about the challenges, yet again!  It's been a month, so I kicked it off again with something a bit inky and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

I've had this set for a while, and I had created a few stamped and die cut images, and then it disappeared on my desk.  I brought it back out and created an inky background using a shaving cream technique.  Hardest part was keeping my greens and peachy oranges from mixing and giving me brown.  But the colors cooperated.

I thought the black and white gave it a nice pop and incorporated the sentiment strips well.

I hope you find some time to get inky today.

Lots of Heart

I was inspired to create a card with lots of heart by the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge.

I had been playing a lot with this year's new images, so I decided to go back to last year's little skunks to create my card.  They are so stinkin' cute.

Lots of glitter and gray!

Glitter something that you create today.

Love and Laughter in a Jar

Only my second post for 2023, but digging into my stash of old kits this year to create and hopefully thin out my stash of goodies.

The Color Throwdown challenge this week gave me the opportunity to create this card.  I pulled out this kit which had a pattern paper that I knew would work.  I added some stamps, dies and inks to create this card.

Who doesn't want some love and laughter in a jar? And who doesn't love a metallic jar lid?

I hope you can fill a jar with something awesome, or at the very least do some creating with something in your stash.

Cheers.

Warm Beverage for Card Concept

My goodness . . . I took quite the break from challenges. It's been chaos, but happy to be back.  I managed to do a few challenge cards this weekend and will be posting a few this week.  First up for 2023 is this card for The Card Concept

The challenge was  color and cocoa.  And one of my colors may be off a bit (red to orange), but here we are.  Created this . . . a mixed media in my opinion because I used soooooo many different embossing powders on my elements. No gingerbread man, but certainly some cinnamon goodness.

I hope you have the opportunity to be creative and heat some powders!

Treat Yourself - Vellum and Transparency

I was inspired by Little Red Wagon's prompt to use vellum or a transparency.  I have been playing with a set I acquired earlier in the year, so there is transparency keeping my gum balls in the machine, but some vellum to create some contrast in my background.

I also love stamping on the vellum.  The pattern paper was a perfect back drop with that vellum over it.

Such a fun set to play with!

I hope you find some time to create.

You're the Sweetest

How about a little embossing.  I created my background - white embossing on kraft cardstock - as I was inspired by the prompt at CAS on Friday.

I couldn't resist using the negative piece from a Pinkfresh die . . . can't throw out a perfect rectangle, even if it's not the piece that had the pretty stitching on the edge.

I created the little candies and used some Glossy Accents to give that "wrapped-in-plastic" appearance.

I hope you found some time to make something shine!

Let It Snow

I pulled this set out to kit for an upcoming class with Creative Chick, and I couldn't resist creating a card for the latest Lawn Fawnatics challenge.

I think this is one of my favorite winter color combinations.  Something about shades of blue and purple make winter way more fun than the brown blah that is out my window right now.  I think these colors speak to true winter when the snow falls.  (Not that I need snow in my day today!)

I adore the little penguin.

I hope you can find some time to craft a critter!

Rise and Shine!

I was inspired by Little Red Wagon to make a card inspired by the prompt, "Let's Eat".  So this morning I made a few eggs over easy with a bit of cheese.  They were delicious and keto.

Then I went to my craft table and made a few eggs sunny-side with a slice of bacon, some fruit and milk.  I enjoyed with the Sun Post.

It's all about the details for me.  I love trying to make paper look real.  My gingham plate is adorable and I wish I had one just like it in my cabinet.  My yolk is so sunny side up, it's almost annoying (I am not a fan except that they look adorable).  My milk bottle is glass, by the way.

Rise and shine! And once you do, go create something fun.

Cry. Laugh. Remember. - Inspired by Just Add Ink

Lots of stamping on this card - both backgrounds and images.  This one was inspired by Just Add Ink where there was an inspiration photo that I've included below with my supply list.

I pulled out an old stamp set for this one.  I think this was one of my first "Club Sursee" sets from Catherine Pooler Designs.  I love that it had the three background panels.

I decided to go with a sympathy card, and I love the sentiment that is stamped on this.  Three words that say it all!

The inspiration for my card was the window pains from a layout perspective and of course, the color combination.

Enjoy some crafty time today!

Many Hoorays for Seize the Birthday

The prompt at Seize the Birthday . . ,

My many of something was die cut "hooray" cheers and a lot of hearts stamped to my card base.

I do love a rainbow of colors, whether it includes all the rainbow or my own version. This color combination was inspired by some scrap cardstock that was in my pile.  I didn't end up using the cardstock, but I did match my inks to the colors.

And my hearts have a bit of sparkle.  I refer to this as the gumdrop technique.  Glossy Accents with a sprinkle of glitter. Adds a bit of extra dimension.

Take sometime to glitter something today!

Flower Power

A creation for Little Red Wagon, where the theme was "Flower Power" this time around.

Not a whole lot of "power" in black and white, but these little gold beads for the center give this card some power.

Sometimes the hardest part is getting the little things to stick.

I hope you find some time to make something stick today.

Be My Valentine

Decided to make my sentiment the star for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

With February right around the corner, I decided to go with a Valentine's Day theme.  Of course, my sentiment came first, and then came the creation of my background for my air mail delivery bird!

A blue sky background seemed appropriate.

Love my Lawn Fawn critters and supplies.  I hope you find sometime to get creative today!

Birds of a Feather

I've been so lax in creating and posting . . . work gets in the way yet again.  I decided to get crafty with a challenge, and here's a little something with wings for the Just Add Ink Challenge.

For this one I used a mix of products, including one of my favorite stamp sets.  Come on!  Birds with scarves!

After coloring the scarves, I heat embossed with some embossing glitter.  A combo of stencils and stamps were used for my background pieces.

I hope you are able to create today!

Birthday Floral for Just Add Ink Challenge

I added some ink on this one, for the Just Add Ink Challenge.  They had this floral inspiration photo (further below) that inspired the photo.

This one is a combo of stamp, stencil and dies.  Well, and ink.  OK, and paper!

Ok, some sequins and glitter in the form of Stickles too!.

I had so much fun pulling this set back out and playing. Pull something out of your stash and get busy!

Happy Halloween - Mixing and Matching

I've been creative, I've just been so busy with the 9 to 5 that I've not posted any creations or done any challenges.  Remedying that and posting a card I created inspired by Little Red Wagon's prompt.  And so focus on the bats . . .

I had the two striped papers as scraps on my table from a project.  I can't part with striped paper, as it makes great borders for cards.  But I also used them for my bats and really like the look that the metallic silver stripes brought to this card.

I do love mixing products from different companies together and today's project is an example of mixing and matching.  I hope you find time to mix and match today!

Fall Inspired - The Paper Players

It's past Labor Day - let the fall inspiration begin.  The Paper Players kicked off their challenge this week with an inspiration photo that was all about fall!

I created a card using some fall stamps and dies.  It's still green outside, but before we know it the leaves will be falling.  I used all Catherine Pooler products for this one.

And the signs of fall will be all around.  (OK, minus the sequins.)

I hope you find some time to create today.

Today is Looking Bright

I love a card created with repetition.  I often struggle with placement, even with a stamping platform tool, so it definitely takes patience and practice.  For me, it's more about the patience.  This card was inspired by the Inspirational Challenge.

I went a bit CAS for this one.  Lots of repetition, and a bit of rainbow color.

I'm a huge fan of glass that looks like glass.  Some Liquid Glass from Close To My Heart was my finishing touch, along with some sparkle for my beverage accompaniments.

Rainbow projects make the day brighter.  Gather up your best ROYGBP and get busy!
