My Favorite Color?

My card today was inspired by Seize the Birthday's inspiration of favorite color.

I'm horrible with favorites. From colors to music. Movies to books. Beverages to foods. I never can choose. And if I do choose, it can only last about 42 seconds, and then my mind changes.

And so my card today is inspired by my favorite color across the span of time it took me to create the card.

I am drawn to color combinations, and nothing beats a rainbow card. There is something about it that just makes me happy. I had the pattern paper on my desk from cards over the last few weeks, so I brought it in some matching inks to create my birthday card.

Am I the only person that stinks at determining favorites? (I secretly tell all my dogs they are my favorite.)

Crafting is my favorite!

Let's Eat Cake!

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to get into my craft room, dig into my crafty stash, and dig out some fun stamps, dies and embellishments.

Dots were the challenge at Seize the Birthday. I pulled out an old die set from Concord & 9th's summer camp. I think this one was from 2022, so it was overdue for a play date.

So I brought in products from other companies and got busy creating a birthday card with some dots. They're big dots, in the form of the pattern paper.

The yumminess of the sparkly decorative frosting was compliments of Nuvo Confetti (also in my stash for quite some time).

Chocolate cake with a white buttercream frosting. I'm hungry now.

I love a good interactive card.

Find some time to create something yummy in your craft room.

Seize the Birthday Inspired

It has certainly been a while since I've posted.  Life has been a bit on the busy side, and it always puts a damper on my crafty fun.

I managed to get some craft time the last couple of weeks, and this weekend was inspired to create a card using the inspiration at Seize the Birthday.

I went with wet embossing, because nothing is more magical than melting embossing powder.  I stamped my cupcake images with Versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  My three sentiment pieces were all embossed with white embossing powder.

Such a fun and easy card to create, and bit on the masculine side which is always a plus.

I hope you find some time to get inky!

With a Cherry on Top

Created this card using the color prompts at Seize the Birthday. The current challenge was to create a birthday card and red, white and one other color.  I chose green for my card and grabbed an old card kit in my stash that had some cherry pattern paper.

I've really been trying to use up my stash of card kits.  Oodles of boxes with coordinating paper, dies, stamps and sometimes embellishments just crying out for my attention. Some are older than others, but no expiration date!

Go use your stash!

Creating a Scene for Seize the Birthday

Yep!  I got so excited I created a scene for Seize the Birthday.  And for this one, I went "pasture" birthday.

I am horrible at sending cards on time, so had to do a belated sentiment on this one.

Loved playing with this Lawn Fawn set which is an older set in my stash!

I hope you found some time to create a scene!

Texture from Negative Border Die Pieces

A little bit of texture for Seize the Birthday challenge.  My texture was added using the negative pieces from a border die that I saved on my desk.  I have this tray of unending small pieces.

I let my pattern paper pave the way for where my sentiment and those texture pieces would go.

I hope you find some time to use your negative cover plate die pieces.

Spring Fling Birthday Card

Hard to know that spring is here in Connecticut.  Yesterday woke to four inches of snow.  Today it got into the 60's.

But here is my take on the spring birthday card for Seize the Birthday

Butterflies and sparkle in various forms.

I love the sheen of those Nuvo Glacier Paste dots.

I hope you find some tie to create today.

Happy Birthday Shaker for Seize the Birthday

Inspired by Seize The Birthday, my sentiment is the focal point of this card, and I made it pop using a shaker.

I used that pattern paper and the die cut acetate pieces for a scrapbook layout over a year ago.  I just adore the bright, cheerful colors and saved some remaining pieces in card background pieces.  I used it to cut my sentiment, and then I used the left over die cuts inside my shaker a

Happy Day Friend!

Balloon inspired at Seize the Birthday!  I pulled out a kit that was near my craft table, as I knew there were some balloon themed items in there.

And then the challenge is to come up with a design using those supplies.  Chipboard balloons - I had to play along and create something with them.  Hardest part was tying those little strings!

I hope you find some time to create today.

Birthday Balloons for Seize the Birthday Challenge

The challenge at Seize the Birthday this week was to "tie one on".  And so I did, to create this masculine card.

Stamping on pattern paper provides an element of interest, provided you've got the right pattern behind what you are stamping.  I love how this one turned out.

I hope you find some time to create today.

One Layer Cards

I have a couple of one layer cards to share today.  They are both the same design, but a different sentiment and a few tweaks here and there.  I wanted these to have a bit of a watercolor look, so after applying the ink to the stamp, I sprayed a mist of water from afar before stamping, and I also rocked the stamp a bit.  They blended quite nicely where there is overlap.

And a great use for all that washi tape!   While the card above has colorful sequins on the balloons, I changed it up on the card blow and did just clear sequins around the balloons.  I like elements of both cards . . . prefer the washi tape on the bottom card, but I think I like the sequins on the top one.

I'm entering that top one in the Seize the Birthday challenge for this week . . .

I hope you find some time to create today!

Pigments and Dye Inks and Embossing

A little something for Seize the Birthday challenge which was "anything goes" for this last two weeks.  Here is my card . . .

I made a card similar to this one before, but with less pizazz, and it was long time ago.  I think there is something about this little bunny that just capture my heart.

I just love the texture of the balloons, which you can see in the picture below.  It's a result of dye inks mixed with pigment inks mixed with embossing powder.  Just love the textured look.

My hope for those who are crafty is that they find some time in their day to create.
