Just Two More

Just two more cards before I leave.  First up a card inspired by Always Playing With Paper.  Their inspiration photo . . .

Click To Play

I was inspired by the colors, but especially by the Ho Ho Ho on the stairs, as it reminded me of the die that came in my monthly card kit from The Stamps of Life.

Loved the washi tape that came with the kit, and had to use it at the bottom of my card.  But I really wanted a simple card where that die would just stand out.

Next up is a card inspired by CAS on Sunday, where the challenge was to make a Christmas card.

Some simple strips of pattern paper with a ribbon border.  Some stamped "25's", with one tucked into a window.  I am loving all that white space.

So perhaps now I'm ready for vacation.  Or there could be just one more card.  We'll see.

Cheers.  I hope you find some time to create.

Just a Few Holiday Cards Before Vacation

I'm heading out on vacation, and I have to ask.  Is it normal to be stressed about the fact that you won't be creating for two solid weeks?  I'm anxious about flying and anxious about traveling alone.  I'm anxious about being away from home for so long.  I'm anxious about being away from my dogs.  And I'm anxious that I won't be doing any stamping, die cutting, embossing, inking, gluing.  My dogs and my crafting are my therapy.

So before leaving, I took time away from packing to create a few cards.  First up is a card for Merry Monday . . . a card in blue and white with texture.

I used Midnight Muse cardstock and ink from Stampin' Up.  My texture came from embossing paste and Ranger Distress Rock Candy glitter.  Love the look of those textured "ho's".  I carried the glitter over to my stamped Santa by using Liquid Glass and the Rock Candy glitter.

My sentiments and stamps were from My Favorite Things.  My stencil and dies were from Simon Says Stamp.  I love finding ways to combine my supplies.

For my second card, I created a card for Paper Smooches challenge.  Their challenge was to incorporate gold somewhere on my card.

I used Ranger's Gold Tinsel embossing powder, which shines like glitter.  The stamp set is A Blessed Christmas from Paper Smooches.

I may fit one or two more cards in tomorrow before leaving.  And if not, then I'll be back to creating in a few weeks.

Cheers!

All Things Silver for Muse Challenge

This week's Muse inspiration was a beautiful, simplistic design.

I went with silver and white for my card.  I was inspired by that middle design.

And while it looks like I stamped in black, it's all silver embossing.  I added some strips of POW paper to border my panel next to my scored borders.

A very simple card using my Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies.

I hope you found some time to create this weekend.

Cheers!

Happy Holidays for Muse Christmas Challenge

My inspiration for today's card came from the Muse Christmas Visions blog.  Here is the card . . .

And here is my card . . .

I did a bit of a reverse on my card by using stamping where the inspiration card had die cuts and using a die cut where the inspiration card used stamping.

I also used some small dies to accent the stamping.

I broke open a new embossing powder as well . . . Ranger Silver Pearl.  Something a little different!

I'm off to create, and I hope you do the same.

Cheers!

So Incredibly Grateful for PPA Color Challenge

This week's challenge at Pal's Paper Arts was a color challenge . . .
11-12 PPA275

Armed with my Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist ink, I set out to make a creation with a frame.  The intention was to have the sentiment showing through from the outside of the card, but the inside sentiment under the frame and not showing.

I used an orange card base with my three inks, and the Hello Honey shows as a lighter orange on the card base.  So I pulled it back in by using it in the window of the card.

I also stamped my leaves in a color, and then stamped a bit "off" with Versamark and clear embossed.

I hope you find some time to create!

Just Us Girls and Can You Case It

I have two cards to share with you today.  First up is a  single layer card for Just Us Girls.

I created a couple versions of this card, but only a few were single layer.  I love these stamps from my Stamp of Approval Friendship Collection.

Second up is a fall card for Can You Case It.  The theme was fall, so for this one I pulled out a fall stamp.

I used distress inks and then came in with a water brush to blend the leaves out a bit.  For the tree, I stamped off to get the tree image, but then came in with the same color to stamp my sentiment.

Two completely different cards.

Cheers!

Just a "W" for Just Add Ink

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week was "W".

W?

O.K. . . . W!  In the form of sail boats!

I had fun piecing those little sailboats together.  They are my "W".

Now, go create!

Ink Organization and Color Throwdown

I have spent the last couple of weeks organizing ink.  Keep in mind that I have a full time job, so my organization is limited to when I can find some spare time.  But with the amount of ink that I have "collected" over the years, it was quite the task.

I put little inked dots on the fronts of all of my ink pads.

I labeled the pads that had no label showing.

And the swatches!  There were swatches to be made.

Swatches of die inks . . . swatches of distress inks noted with little stars . . . swatches of pigment inks, noted with little hearts.  And my ombre ink pads?

So happy to be done.  I couldn't wait to get back to stamping (although I think my next project might involve some serious re-inking of dry ink pads).

So here is a card I created this evening for Color Throwdown.

This one started as bokeh.  Such a fun card.

Loving those little fish!

So good to be creating . . . and with organized inks!

Cheers!

Twinkle for Merry Monday

When I saw this week's Merry Monday Challenge . . . Christmas lights with glitter . . . I knew I had to play along.  I love Christmas lights, and I love glitter, so combining the two was to hard to pass up.

For this card I used a new stamp set that had two-step stamping.  These were so fun to make!  I added sequins in the colors to match the lights, just to give that illusion of color.

Glitter!  Lights!  Christmas is coming.

Go create . . . cheers!
