Grateful Thanks - Colour Q and Paper Smooches Challenges

I have two cards to share tonight.  Two cards for two challenges.

First up is a card I created for Colour Q challenge.  I used Stampin' Up inks to watercolor, which I don't do often.  But it works!  The color palette . . .

Here is my card . . .

And my sequins matched up pretty nicely too.  I love it when things come together.

And then next up is a little something for Paper Smooches Challenge.  I've not participated in one for a while, and I started out creating a wreath using one of their stamps sets.  I was inspired by their inspiration photo . . .

But it went in a different direction, as you'll see below.

I was inspired to cut pieces of my wreath with a circle punch, and then piece it all back together.  If you look closely, I did match up the pieces.  It's tough to tell . . . but I swear.  It was puzzle time for me.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Just Roll With It - The Card Concept 62

I am completely stepping outside of my comfort zone today for The Card Concept challenge.  I was inspired by the checked pattern and the plaids in the tablecloth in the photo (which is shown below with my supply list).  I knew I had some leftover supplies and I wanted to attempt a collage card using various elements that I've saved over time.  Most of these are leftover items from kits.  Cardstock from an old Simon Says Stamp kit, pattern paper and stickers from a collection I had purchased, and ribbon leftover from an album kit.  Here is my card . . .

In fact, it's so out of my comfort zone, that I think while collage was my intention, I might have stopped a bit shy.  The intent was there . . . I promise.

The interesting thing is that aside from some inking on the edges, I didn't use any stamps on this card.  By the time I started layering and collaging items on my card, I didn't feel the need for any additional stamping.

I love using up old supplies, and if you are a "saver" like me, I hope you find some time to use up some old items sometime soon.

Supplies Used - Just Roll With It
Cardstock:  Simon Says Stamp
Pattern Paper:  Pebbles
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Ribbon:  May Arts

Baby It's Cold Outside - Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

Finding time to create has really been a challenge for the last several months, so I'm really trying hard to schedule creative time. Some challenge cards seem in order, so this post is the first of what will hopefully be a few. It is for Stamp, Ink Paper Challenge which had a color challenge this week.  The colors . . .

And here is my card . . .

I love House Mouse stamps, and while they take some time and attention to color, the results are always adorable. I turned this one into a shaker card.

To get my shades, I mixed distress inks of varying shades until I felt I had the color palette for the pool and copper colors . . . although clearly my copper doesn't have a shine to it.  I've rarely seen a mouse that had a shine . . . and thanks to my cat, Lucy, I've seen a few mice over the last few months as it gets colder here in New England.  They love to make their way in, and she loves to find them.  A few we've rescued from her grip and freed outdoors again.  But I think they make their way back in.  If I could put a knit hat our there for them and be assured they would end up as cute as this image in the card, I'd do it!

Hope you find some time to create today!

Now on with the projects.

This month it's all about the see through stuff...vellum and acetate.  I have three projects for you today . . . One with vellum and two with acetate.  First up is the vellum card.

The secret to this card is to stamp with Versamark and emboss with white ink.  Once it had cooled down, I flipped the image over and colored the back side with Copic markers.  However, any marker would do for this technique.  When you flip it back over, the white embossing just pops, and you have the color behind, so no smearing.

Next I  have two shaker cards for you below.  One is a bit more simple than the other.  What do you need for great shaker cards . . . dies that provide a window, something shake (sequins, beads, glitter or small cardstock pieces) and a piece of acetate.  In this case, I used pattern paper to create my design.

Such a simple card. My die cut images are on top of the acetate, which is a different use because you get that great shadow effect in the background.

And then a Holiday card with a full window shaker.

In this one, the focal point is the watercolor image in the window, which was obviously a bit more work than just using that pattern paper.  I adore House Mouse Stamps, so this card makes me melt.

We really love feedback, so please leave a comment on each of the blogs in today's hop. Your hop destinations are:
