Gettin' Sketchy

I have two creations to share today.  The first is a card I created using Clean and Simple Stamping's sketch (#301) and the color combination at Colour Me Card Challenge which was to use Pistachio Pudding ink with neutrals.  Here is the result . . .

My neutral colors were gold and cork (o.k. - cork is not a color).  I used embossing powder from Stampendous, and some adhesive cork from my Studio Calico kit supplies.

For my second card, I used the Sketchbook Saturday sketch from Random Acts of Creativity.  I just love this sketch when I saw it because the heart in the sketch made me want to use my heart/paw die from Paper Smooches.

I used some elements in my arsenal . . . flowers from American Crafts, a gold doily from Some Odd Girl and those Blue Frosties from Queen & Company.  They look like lights!  Just love them.

Hope you find some time to create today.

Sketchbook Saturday

It was time! Today was the day I needed to get back to creating. It seems I had taken a bit of a break since returning from vacation.

So I went to the latest Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and my stash of leftover pieces from prior layouts, and here is what I came up with.

The sketch . . .

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #78

A clean and simple look was my focus for the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge, and then a little smudge led to the addition of a strip of "tasteful trim" for my sentiment. And then another smudge led to the addition of a pearl and you can 't have one flower with a pearl and the rest vacant.  Clean and simple became just a bit more.

Lesson learned: apply the black ink last!

Sketchbook Saturday #76

I played along with Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and am getting it in under wire.  Here is the sketch:

I decided to frame out my card, and have a floral design behind the frame.  I used white cardstock as my background, and cut the frame out of both the white and the pattern paper, and then used that white piece for inking up my design.

Here is a close up that shows a little of the sparkle in the card (on the birds wing and the stamped flowers).

And on the inside, I chose a subtle pattern, so one could still write a message.

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #72

I combined two challenges when making this card . . . the first challenge was one on an awesome community I'm part of called StampNation.  I've met some awesome ladies as a part of this group . . . and this week's challenge was to make a monochromatic card.  I decided to use the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge when creating, and here is what I ended up with.

First . . . the sketch . . .

And then my creation . . .

Monochromatic indeed!  I'm super happy with the way this turned out . . . with thanks to my friend Katie who loaned me some items from her stash! (I may have to keep them.)

Red makes me happy!

(O.K. . . . most colors make me happy.  Cut me some slack!)

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #62

Just a little something for Sketchbook Saturday Challenge . . .

The sketch . . .

My design using some scraps of Stampin' Up Designer Series paper in my stash . . .

A very simple design, although I did some embossing of the border top and bottom.

Not my usual colors, but a great way to use up pattern paper in my stash and participate in a fun sketch challenge.  All product is Stampin' Up, except for the cardstock base which is Bazzill.

Cheers!
