Kit Kraft Wednesday - Farmhouse Holiday

I'm still using product from my Button Farm holiday kit from two years ago.  I finished the kit a few weeks ago, and one thing I love about the Button Farm kits is that my leftover paper can be used for cards or additional layouts.  After my book was put together, I cut down my pieces into "card friendly sizes" and found some ways to use my leftover stickers.

There were two challenges that inspired me to use some of those supplies today.  The first was The Paper Players challenge this week, which was a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.

I went with that middle across row . . .

I used pattern paper for the background and the banner, the snowflake stickers layered perfectly on this card (not to mention that snowflake brad), and the embossed gold greeting is from one of my favorite new stamp sets from Essentials by Ellen (from Ellen Hutson).  Love that greeting!

My second card was inspired by the cue card at CASology . . .

So I was using old paper from an old kit, but even more inspiring is that the Farmhouse paper from the kit has that old feeling, and the ornament stickers remind me of ornaments from when I was a kid.

I love the way those popped ornament stickers blend in so well with that top background piece.

Great fun, and my scraps are nearly gone!  Hope you find some time to use items from your stash.

Kit Kraft Wednesday - Leftovers!

Tomorrow is that one day a year where leftovers are part of the fun, but this post isn't about Thanksgiving leftovers . . . no turkey, potatoes or stuffing . . . this is about using leftovers from my Button Farm Kit, specifically a kit from two years ago.  I created these two cards for two challenges. I love that I was able to use both paper and embellishments from this kit.

First up is the Less is More challenge, which was "Jingle All the Way."  For this challenge, I went with bells, as they were leftover from my kit.

There was no stamping on this card, except for the inside sentiment.  I had stickers left to use for the sentiment on the front of the card.

For my second card, I used this week's Muse card for inspiration.  Here is there card . . .

I was inspired by the overlapping tags and the way that the sentiment and the elements overlap the tags.  Here is my card . . .

This card has minimal stamping.  It's all about the combination of these great pattern papers.  The hounds-tooth background along with the musical note paper for the tags, the beige pattern paper for the tag toppers, and the chevron stripe paper for the ornament is a combination that works very well together.  I used stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.

Two great challenges and an opportunity to use supplies on hand!  Can't as for more than that on a Wednesday.  Hope you find some time to create over this long holiday weekend.

Kit Kraft Wednesday - Using Up Button Farm Supplies

I was late on Kit Kraft Wednesday last week, so I wanted to be sure to post a creation using supplies from my monthly kits. While at a crop this past weekend, I finished a chipboard book from The Button Farm.  I had leftover paper and embellishments and cut them up to create future cards.  The first is a creation using the color combination challenge from The Paper Players which was Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Mossy Meadow.  Here is my card . . .

The scene was created using one of Stampin' Up's new clear stamps.  I embossed the images before adding some watercolor to the scene.  I love the look of coloring scenes on pattern paper.

My second card, using those same leftover supplies, was inspired by this week's CAS-ology challenge, which was "FESTIVE."  I used my leftover paper, chipboard and stickers to create this card, adding a sentiment die from Essentials by Ellen.

I've been enjoying my latest craze, which is to emboss my sentiment dies, adding dimension and shine.  Highly recommend you give it a try; it really adds some "pop" to your cards.

The reindeer and border were both chipboard elements and added some awesome dimension as well.

Hope you find some time to create!

Kit Kraft Wednesday - Scraps from The Button Farm

It's Kit Kraft Wednesday, and I'm following through on my commitment to use my kits or stop their shipment.

Earlier this week I showed a mini-album I created from a kit from The Button Farm, which you can find here.   Anytime I make their kits, there is always an ample amount of supplies left to create a little something, and so I'm always unable to throw anything away.  So I challenged myself to use those scraps, and that is what I'm sharing today.

I started with a card base of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, and I added scraps and elements from The Button Farm leftovers.  I inked in brown, and used a stamp from My Creative Time.

Use your stash!

Group Hugs for Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

This week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge was an Anything Goes challenge. So I started with The Button Farm mini-kit that I had received a few months back.  When I receive these kits, I will typically follow instructions for the cover, with perhaps a few tweaks.  But for the inside pages, I'll peruse the instructions for ideas but will typically "wing" the inside.  So here is the cover of this little album . . .

When I created the inside pages for this mini-album, I wanted to incorporate the sentiments from the Group Hugs stamp set.  I'm so glad that I did.  They are the perfect.   Appreciate everything . . .

Stay positive; believe in yourself . . .

Live well . . .

Learn to swerve . . .

Take risks . . .

I am loving this stamp set.  The challenge now is to find the perfect photos or to gift this to someone who has the perfect photos.  Either will do!
