Stencils and Embossing at StampNation

Have I mentioned the Stencil Class at StampNation?

Well, perhaps I need to mention the Stencil Class at StampNation.

For a quarter and a nickel a day, I have a membership at my favorite place for inspiration - StampNation.  And the past week or so we have been enjoying a class that is all about stencils.

There are numerous cards created by the design team, and while I created a few, here is a card I created that was inspired by one of the designers.  This one combines embossing paste and colored embossing powder on black cardstock.  And I'm including it for the challenge at Happy Little Stampers, which was "stencil".

The dimension of embossing paste and powder is awesome!

Highly recommend you check it out.  I've met the most amazing crafty people there.

I hope you find some time to create.

Mother's Day for Color Throwdown

Trying to get an early start on Mother's Day, as I'm always too late every year.  I used the color inspiration at Color Throwdown for this card.

And here is my card . . .

Love working on kraft cardstock.

I hope you find some time to create today.  Cheers!

Mmmmm . . . Merry Monday

The challenge at Merry Monday this week was to create a card showcasing your favorite warm beverage.  I don't drink it often, but I love hot cocoa with mint.  The first time I had cocoa with a candy cane in it, I was at a local crop at an amazing hotel.  I remember the candy cane melted while I was eating brunch, and when I grabbed it to stir, the end was gone.  The cane was just sticking up and stuck to the side of the mug.  It was so yummy with the flavor of that melted candy cane.

But I digress!  I combined today's card with the use of stencils.  StampNation is having a free stencil class for their members . . . and nothing at StampNation expires, so if you join today you would get all the lessons.  You would get every video . . . every tutorial . . . every challenge (they never close).  The inspiration and friendship is amazing.

Here is my card . . .

My stencil background was created using embossing paste and red geranium embossing paste from Ranger/Wendy Vecchi.

My little squirrel image was colored using Zig Kuratake markers.

Love the dimension in that embossing paste!

I hope you find some time to create today.

Cheers!

StampNation News and Some Challenge Cards

Sharing some news from my favorite crafty place, and a couple of cards to share as well.

First, my crafty place, StampNation, is having their 5th birthday celebration.  When I say that StampNation is my favorite crafty place, I could not mean it more.  I love everything about it and have since I joined over four years ago.

For the birthday celebration, it is all about stencils.  StampNation has a stencil class going on this past week and heading into next week.  There are videos and tutorials, and the membership is posting their take on the lessons.  It's all about stencils.  If you have stencils and ink, or even if you don't . . . it's a place for inspiration.  I hope you will check it out.  Here is a sneak peek of a card I created using stencils.  This is one with a masculine flair . . .

You can check out the full card on StampNation.

And now to share a few cards.  Here is one created for CAS on Sunday.  Their challenge this week was a winter card.

A winter thank you card seemed appropriate--it's chilly this week.  I let the pattern paper do the talking, and I stamped a monotone sentiment.

And my second card today was created for Mojo Monday.  One of the things I like to do with sketches is flip them.  And that's what I did today.  Here is the sketch . . .

 And here is my card . . . flipped a bit . . .

You never have to fully follow a sketch exactly.  You can take a little creative license, which I did here.

This is a pretty Clean and Simple card.  I used supplies from last year's Simon Says Stamp card kit from February . . . I must be thinking ahead to clean out the old supplies, and bring in the new.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Three Challenges . . . Three Cards

I had the chance to get inked up today when I sat down to create a few creations for some challenges.  Here is how it all went down.

First up, I created a little something for The Card Concept.  Here is their inspiration photo . . .

And here is my card . . .

I went with my typical clean and layered card, by using some dies from Simon Says.  I did crack open the packaging on a new panel die . . . the postage die, which I love.  I will say that I used my Misti to be sure I could get a good image of that sentiment across the layers of those heart dies.  Loving that Misti.

I decided to use my Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit for my next two cards, and the first card was created for Muse Card Challenge.  Here is the Muse card . . .

And here is my card . . .

What most inspired me on the Muse card was the layout of the card, and the way the stamped panel on their card had a horizontal design. I went with a horizontal swirl, but then filled in the panel with snowflakes.  The snowflakes were stamped using Versamark and a dye ink, and then embossed using Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Sparkle embossing powder (which was also used to stamp the "thanks" on the white card base).

And finally my third card.  This one was created using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketch.  Here is the sketch . . .
And here is my card . . .

For this card, I used all supplies from the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit.  Fun papers and winter embellishments in this kit.  I used a little of everything in the kit . . . cardstock, pattern paper, sparkly tape, stickers, epoxy stickers . . . not too shabby.

I had some fun with that one.

I certainly hope your weekend included some serious creating.

Cheers!
