Holiday Trees

Trees is the theme at Christmas Craft Creations, so I got busy with some trees.  This is a set that I needed to break out for the holidays, but never got around to playing with it.

I used some leftover paper from another project to create this card.  My sentiment is heat embossed, so didn't pick up well in the picture above.  It needed a bit more tilt during the photo session.

Lots of glitter and shine.

I hope you find some time to get creative.

Debbie

Joy - Inkspirational Challenge

I saw the inspiration photo at Inkspirational Challenges and immediately was drawn to the pillow with "Joy" on the front of it.  I have a die that I've been playing around with and some pattern paper scraps from a recent virtual crop.  I mashed them together for today's card.

I used the pattern papers for my background, and the back of a pattern paper that was solid (with a little variation in the color) for my "joy" die.  But I continued that pattern paper theme to cut the small dies within my large sentiment die.  You can see the tiny variation in color on the inlaid pieces.  I used a red buffalo plaid which had three variations of reds, a sweater print for my greens which had two different tones and those tiny white pieces of some flecks of cream.

This was a fun card for me, as I love piecing dies together.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Mr. and Mrs. for Mojo Monday

I created a wedding card for this week's Mojo Monday.  Here is my card . . .

I used black and white elements with a touch of a very pale blue that appears gray in these photos.  Here is the sketch:

Loving that delicate heart border die!

This one is earmarked for someone special and will be out of my house by tomorrow!

Make some time to create this week.

Masculine Thanks for Kit Kraft Wednesday

Using supplies up from an older kit, and this one was Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit.  I created a little masculine "thanks" card.

I love all the patterns and colors on this card and I did my best to match the colors for my stamped starts and sentiment.

Mojo Monday Creation

Not much to say . . . just adding a little creation for Mojo Monday

This card was created with the sketch below in mind . . .

This card was created using supplies from an old Simon Says Stamp Kit from 2012.

The flower was stamped on cream cardstock and then colored using a white pen.

Happy crafting!

Play Hard for Kit Kraft Wednesday

It's that day when I show that I'm using my monthly kit.  It is Kit Kraft Wednesday.  I combined my Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit with the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping, and here is my design . . .

I thought this would be a great masculine card to give encouragement or let someone one know you think they're awesome!

I'm loving that banner border, which was cut from pattern paper.

Once again I'm safe to receive that next monthly shipment of my Simon Says Kit . . . because I'm using it!

Starry Stenciled Background

One stencil . . . two different embossing pastes.

My May Simon Says Stamp Card Kit came with a star stencil.  With my black cardstock I created two different card bases and tried two different embossing pastes.  The first was a regular white one, and the second was a translucent . . . two very different looks.

So here is the traditional white matte embossing paste.  Again, this one is on black cardstock, and once dried I inked it up a bit with some yellow ink so it wouldn't be stark white since my pattern paper included cream and not white.

I love the raised effect of the stars.  I used my pattern paper with the monsters at the bottom, and also found paper that said "things that go bump in the night."

For my second card, I used the translucent embossing paste, and while still wet I sprinkled on some Hero Arts glitter.  This is a completely different look . . . one I would definitely try again with another stencil down the road (my brain is percolating on it).

These cards started out so similar, but they both took a different route.  Here's an angled view of that sparkle . . .

Looking forward to trying that glitter technique again with another stencil soon.  Wait for it.
