Unsinkable Embossed Sailboat

A masculine card created for Cards in Envy challenge . . . "for the boys".  I had a card kit that I knew would be perfect to pull, as I knew it had a masculine feel to it.

I used pattern paper for my background, and for the sailboat included a few layers of silver embossing powder on my die.  I do love the way that sailboat turned out.  I think I'll have to create a few more!

Go create!

She Who Leaves a Trail of Glitter

I was inspired to create a card with two challenges in the back of my head.  One was to use a stencil (inspired by a challenge at StampNation), and the other was to create something layered with mixed media for the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media  challenge.

This is not super mixed media, but I decided to explore the layering effects from distress oxides, and then to layer some glass glitter bead gel over the top.  I love how the oxides layer, rather than blend.  And the glitter bead gel over the top is such a great effect.

Again, perhaps not super mixed media, but fun to explore the layering with some mixed media products.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Baby Shower Shaker Card for Try Stamping on Tuesday

Try Stamping on Tuesday has a technique challenge out there for a shaker card, so I went to work and created a shaker card for a baby shower.  This one was bigger than my typical A2 card size, as it was for a group of us to sign and I wanted to create a scene through the various windows on this card.

Mamas and their babies were a part of this set from Mama Elephant.  And the babies are in little diapers.  Too cute.

Shakers are always so fun to make.  There is a certain satisfaction that comes with all that building of layers.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Welcome to the World Tag and Bag

It has truly been over a month since I've been creative and posted anything on my blog.  I was away for over two weeks on a cruise, and work before and after was insanely busy.

Just getting back into the swing and sharing a creation for Stamp Ink Paper . . . a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge where I included a tree, wood and ribbon.  It's not a card, but rather a tag and gift bag.  The tag went into a shadow box gift where she can save items from her new arrival.  The gift in the bag was journal tags, so that the new mom could have a scrapbook made . . . hence the "eat, sleep create" tag on the bag.

It's great to be back in creative mode.  Hoping to find more time to create over the weekend.  I definitely need to get back in the swing of things.

I hope you find some time to create!
