Bubblegum Shaker Fun

I'm truly working to be creative this weekend, after several weeks of all work and no play.  And this week I worked on numerous fun cards using a My Favorite Things kit, and I thought I would share a few of them.  This set is fabulous, and I a lot of fun piecing them together.

My favorites were the ones where a portion of my sentiment was inside the bowl of the gumball machine.

I enjoyed breaking apart the sentiment on this next one . . .

On this one I made a border of gumballs . . . tedious, but adorable.

I used to hate orange . . . but I've grown quite fond of it.

Another with some bright colors . . .

These last few of gumballs to grab.

And just one more . . .

I hope you find some time to chew some gum and be creative today.

Note:  All supplies were contained in My Favorite Things Bubble Gum Card Kit.   The stamp set and die set are available as separate purchases, as are those shaker pieces.  And of course, the die set cuts the little circles as well.

Stamp Ink Paper Halloween Tic-Tac-Toe

How about a little Tic-Tac-Toe?  This is my favorite way to play the game, so my thanks to Stamp Ink Paper

I went with the bottom corner and up . . . orange, Halloween, and patterned paper.

I wanted to give the impression of my critters peeking thru windows, so I stamped all for of them on the circles to put on the flip-it card.

The little silly eyes are a fun touch!

Rainy days go very well with ink, paper, stamps and dies!  Go get busy.

Plaid, Watercolor, Embossing and Distressing for Merry Monday

I absolutely hate when my job gets in the way of my craftiness . . . but I need one to support the other.  Harsh world.

All that said, I'm happy to find some time to post a few cards this week that I created for some challenges.  First up for this weekend is a card created for Merry Monday.  The challenge was to create a Christmas card with plaid.

I dug for plaid paper, and I don't own much of it.  Rarely does a piece of plaid paper scream "buy me".  But I found a piece!  It compliments my stamped and colored design well.

Now let's talk about that stamped design.  I saw a technique on StampNation that I had been wanting to try, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  Watercolor paper . . . distress inks to color . . . and then the technique . . . four coats of clear embossing powder over the entire image . . . put it in the freezer and upon removing a few hours later, a little wiggling and bending to create the cracks.  I then ran a gray ink pad over it, which got in the cracks.  I wiped off the excess and began to put my card together.

I'm on the fence about the technique, but I will definitey try it again down the road.  It was fun to see where it would end up.

I hope you find some time to create . . . I'm heading back to the craft table right now.

This month we are playing with ink and embossing and using a technique that is often called "Joseph's Coat." It is an emboss resist technique that produces some fabulous results.

Now on with my project.  Did you hear that?  Singular . . . Project   Meaning I only made one card this time around.  So apologies on that one, but I was away for over a week leading into this challenge.

So this technique started with a solid white piece of paper.  To that, I stamped my monsters in color, using two colors for each monster and black for the eyes and antenna.  I then stamped a layer or two of versmark . . . and note that not being exact is a good thing, as it leaves a white background in all the right places.  I then embossed with clear embossing powder.

From there, all those white spaces became blue background.  I added some confetti stars and a sentiment, and there it is!

Here's today's line-up in case you get lost along the way

Thanks for hopping!

Hope you find some time to be creative.
