Be My Valentine Heart Confetti

I love mixing colors together, and the color combination at The Paper Players was so friendly, I just had to play along.

I did pull in some additional shades of two of the colors for some contrast in my hearts.

Fabulous combination of colors!

I hope you find some time to create today.

Sending Love

Red and pink were the Inkspirational prompt, and it indeed inspired me. Queue the red and pink inks with my balloon stencil!

A simple card with layered balloons and the added element of a few balloon dies.

Happy creating!

Good Coffee . . . Great Friends

I do adore my creative time with shaving cream and ink . . . consider it like the cream in my coffee!

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Creative Friday - Cafe. No matter what coffee shop I go to, the warm cup and sleeve are so inviting to grab, and amazing coffee brewing smells are incredibly comforting.

I just love the look of those coffee beans, which is where the shaving cream and inks came into play. When I do this technique, I always wish I did it more often. It's a messy one, but it's so fun to see the marbled results.

My coffee cups made me want to hit the local coffee shop for a latte. Yum!

Make some coffee or make something crafty. And have fun!

Monochomatic for Color Dare

I love purple, so the opportuntity to create something in those hues makes me happy. Purple was the color at Color Dare Color Challenge

My inks are a bit more muted, as I used the Spa Collection of inks from Catherine Pooler. But they're so beautiful together!

I do love that the Catherine Pooler paper pack and inks work so beautifully together.

Nothing like some monochromatic goodness.

Sending "Puffy Hearts" Your Way

I love an opportunity to create my own dimensional elements. Today's card was inspired by the Inspired By challenge, where "puffy hearts" were showcased.

My hearts may not be stuffed with fluff, but I do love to bulk items up with Glossy Accents from Ranger, and then sprinkle on the glitter. It gives so much dimension.

They remind me of plump sugary gum drops. Puffy hearts!

Make someting puffy!

Waving Hello

I was inspired by Alphabet Challenge to create an underwater element on my card today, so while the fox and the chick are floating about on the water, the fish are below them doing their own version of floating. I'd like to think they are sharing in the fun.

I used pattern paper in my scrap pile for this card, and pared it up with an adorable Avery Elle stamp set.

Create your own scene today!

Sharing a clean and simple floral card using minimal supplies. The card was inspired by the challenge at CAS on Friday

I love this set from Scrapbook.com. It's a simple set, but it packs a punch.

I don't do CAS often enough. Love how this one turned out.

Go find something to create!

Just a Little Bling

I pulled out some old sets to add "just a little bling" to my card, which was the challenge prompt at Just Add Ink.

I kept my bling in my glitter embossed background and my sequins.

And while it's hard for me, I left some white space!

So hard.

Go leave some white space somewhere, and add a bit of glitter.

You Are So Sharp

Today's card was created using the inspiration from Lawn Fawnatics Lots of Heart challenge prompt.

I created a heart meadow background for my critters today.

And I revisited the porcupines from last year . . . was it last year? The critter arrivals all blend together.

I do love the background this stencil produced.

I hope you find some time to get inky today.

Taking the Positive with the Negative - Take 7

Positive and negative image designs are some of my favorites to play around with. I'm often asked if I ever create multiples of cards. This is about as close as it gets. I just love to create a background and have the output be two completely different cards.

I created the background piece using a piece of watercolor paper and my rediscovered stash of Ken Oliver Colorbursts. Once happy with the background, I was inspired to use a die by the Crafty Calendar Challenge and pulled one out that I knew could get me a second background with the negative images.

And so my positive image card for Crafty Calendar Challenge. . .

I love that the powders provide more intense colors in some spaces. The die does a great job breaking it all up.

And now the fun began, because creating the second card is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together! Once my images were down, but sentiment was inspired by the Alphabet Challenge prompt which was T is for Thank You.

It's been quite some time since I posted a positive/negative card. I hope you enjoyed and find some time to create some of your own.

Paper Pieced Stamped Image

I'm a huge fan of paper piecing. Whether it's stamping and fussy cutting, or it's die cutting and creating pieces to layer . . . COUNT ME IN! It's like a puzzle to me.

I was inspired by Little Red Wagon's challenge suggestion of "piece" which was paper piecing. And so today I'm sharing this card that is a combination of paper piecing dies, and paper piecing stamped images.

The background is paper piecing some pattern paper pieces into a background die. The images of the scissors is cutting and pasting the scissor blades and the handles, which were stamped and then layered onto the solid die cut image. I colored that image with a blender pen and coordinating inks. I just love the pop of dimension.

Do all the piecing and have fun.

Black and White 50th Card

Happy New Year!

Creating along with the Color Throwdown challenge.

What's not to love about black, grey and white. I'm often reminded of the opening scenes in Wizard of Oz, but I do find it's fun to create in black and white.

I used an old set for this one with the balloons that you could only imagine being much more colorful. Balloons are usually always colorful, unless you're celebrating a milestone birthday.

I used a mix of supplies for this one! I hope you can get your mix going and create something.
