Airmail Interactive for Lawn Fawnatics

I created this interactive card for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge.  I used the Waving Pull Tab Die.

I used twine in place of the image that came with the stamp set.  I thought it added an extra touch.

Always fun to create some Lawn Fawn!

I hope you find some time to create today.

Clouds and Stitching for Just Add Ink

Just Just Add Ink challenge this week was Just Add Two . . .

I chose the clouds and the stitching.  Who can resist some stitching!

I went to Lawn Fawn for this one.  I had some owl images that were begging to be colored.

Just add clouds and a shaker window or two, for Just Add Two!

I love my Lawn Fawn.  I hope you find some time to create today!

CAS Lawn Fawn Creation

Creating a CAS creation with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies is always hard for me.  I always want to add color and dimension . . . skies and hills . . . mountains and water sources.  I held back and created something for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.

I did go with a slimline design using the die from last year's release.  Valentine stamps and dies to make a CAS birthday greeting.  And yes, there's a little dimension, but I tried to keep some white space.

Love my lawn fawn stamps and dies.

And now I must go create!

A Hard Day's Night Inspired

Just when I think I have too many stamps and dies, I realize my stamps and dies are missing an element.  Where are my stamps relative to working?  The challenge at Little Red Wagon is A Hard Day's Night . . . something work related!  I love that they are going to focus this year on themes related to The Beatles.

And so back to the challenge and my lack of work related stamps and dies!  Perhaps when I'm cutting and pasting, the last thing I want to think about is anything work related?  But Lawn Fawn doesn't disappoint.  I created a card honoring the the mail carrier!

Like my mail carrier, this little dude is delivering cheer to mailboxes and chicks everywhere.

If only my mail carrier kept it to important Air Mail and cute cards with hearts on the envelope!

I used a mix of kraft and white, which is a combination that I've gotten away from.

Love my creating time!  Cheers!

Quote Inspired at Time Out

A very simple card for the Time Out challenge this week.  I used supplies from a very old kit in my stash.  The quote that inspired the card . . .

.

Very true story in that quote.

I love being able to pull out old supplies to create.

And I hope you found some time to create today.

Just Roll With It - The Card Concept 62

I am completely stepping outside of my comfort zone today for The Card Concept challenge.  I was inspired by the checked pattern and the plaids in the tablecloth in the photo (which is shown below with my supply list).  I knew I had some leftover supplies and I wanted to attempt a collage card using various elements that I've saved over time.  Most of these are leftover items from kits.  Cardstock from an old Simon Says Stamp kit, pattern paper and stickers from a collection I had purchased, and ribbon leftover from an album kit.  Here is my card . . .

In fact, it's so out of my comfort zone, that I think while collage was my intention, I might have stopped a bit shy.  The intent was there . . . I promise.

The interesting thing is that aside from some inking on the edges, I didn't use any stamps on this card.  By the time I started layering and collaging items on my card, I didn't feel the need for any additional stamping.

I love using up old supplies, and if you are a "saver" like me, I hope you find some time to use up some old items sometime soon.

Two Sketches - Two Cards

I focused on non-holiday cards and played along with two sketches.  The first one was a sketch from My Favorite Things.  Here is the sketch . . .

And here is my card . . .

For this one I used pattern papers in my stash.   The stamp set used here is Amazing which is new from My Favorite Things.  I stamped in Versamark and used Ranger White Embossing powder for the "Amazing" and used Close To My Heart inks for the smaller sentiment pieces, which I masked so the words would be separate.

I used a Pico Embellisher (Wedding Dress) which I splattered on with a paint brush.  I like it, but I'm also on the fence about it.  I also used some "drops" from Queen & Company.

My second card was for the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  Loved this sketch and was intrigued to use some Simon Says Stamp kit supplies from the November Kit.  I was a little bummed that I was short on Thanksgiving cards this year, so I'm one card ahead for 2016 (just hope I store it well and can find it come November).

Here is the sketch . . .

PPA280

And here is my card . . .

I let the paper do most of the talking on this one.  For the sentiment, I used gold embossing powder.  Love the effect of the gold on the orange cardstock.

I hope you find some time to create!

Cheers.

So Incredibly Grateful for PPA Color Challenge

This week's challenge at Pal's Paper Arts was a color challenge . . .
11-12 PPA275

Armed with my Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist ink, I set out to make a creation with a frame.  The intention was to have the sentiment showing through from the outside of the card, but the inside sentiment under the frame and not showing.

I used an orange card base with my three inks, and the Hello Honey shows as a lighter orange on the card base.  So I pulled it back in by using it in the window of the card.

I also stamped my leaves in a color, and then stamped a bit "off" with Versamark and clear embossed.

I hope you find some time to create!

Kit Kraft Wednesday - Love

I am a member of a few kit clubs, and while I do use my kits . . . I swear I do . . . I don't always use them timely.  So for 2014 I am in a use it or lose it phase . . . which means if I'm not going to use the kits I should cancel my subscriptions.

(Well, that's not happening!)

So with the new year comes Kit Kraft Wednesday, and today I'm showcasing my December stamps from The Stamps of Life Die Hard Club.  They arrived at the beginning of December, and it was not until this week that I unearthed them from the holiday cards and chaos.  Each month they send me a stamp set with a coordinating set of dies.  Here is my creation . . .

The set came with some really versatile stamps, and for this card I only used two . . . the imprint with the heart, and then the word "love" which was a separate stamp.  I used four of the dies . . . the three banners at the top and the rounded rectangular window at the bottom.

First valentine card of the year, although this card could be used for just about any occasion.

So I've set a goal for myself . . . and for Kit Kraft Wednesday.   Hopefully you will see some ideas posted each week where I used my kits.  If I did my math right, that's 52 posts!  One down and 51 to go.

Happy crafting!
