Merry Little Christmas - Turnabout Stamp

Sweet Stampin' was the inspiration for my card today. It's Christmas!

There was a lot of stamping on this card. I used a Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th to create my background. Four different shades of ink created a great background, and the stamp also had a focal image of a larger tree which I placed on vellum.

Gold and green . . . the perfect combo. Turnabout stamps can be tricky, but this on was a lot of fun. If you haven't tried one, highly recommend.

Happy stamping!

Debbie

Holly Jolly Christmas

My card today was inspired by the colors at Color Dare

I used an old 6 x 6 Christmas pack from Bo Bunny. I matched my inks in my tree to the greens in the paper, attempting to get variation in color from one side to the other.

Hoping stamps and dies are under my tree.

Hope your day includes some creating.

Another Ruff Day Design

I had the critters still on my desk from a few days ago when I created another card, so a CAS card for CAS on Friday seemed to be right in front of me.

Similar pups and sentiment that I used the other day, but a completely different look. Dogs on parade commiserating with you about a "ruff" day - who doesn't need that?

If you have a furry friend in your life, tell them I said hello!

Translation of a Woof and Meow for Color Throwdown

Loved the color palette at Color Throwdown this week. So relaxing and calm, and I translated it to a translation of the bark.

I can't say that my dogs keep me calm 24/7. They get a little crazy. But I like to think they appreciate me as much as I appreciate them.

I hope you find some time to create.

Big Thanks - Masculine

Masculine cards are the assignment at Alphabet Challenge Blog. I find I struggle with masculine cards, likely because I'm drawn to the bright rainbow hues. Although, what guy doesn't like a rainbow?

For my card today, I decided to try to stick to true masculine, and I found myself drawn to a not-so-cute pattern paper from an old Halloween paper pack.

This was a Halloween pack from Authentique. The patterns were just perfect for masculine. In fact, any of these would make a great tie (just saying).

The lettering from Catherine Pooler Designs also is great for a masculine card.

Kept it simple . . . hope you find a way to keep it simple.

Cheers!

Color Throwdown - Hope Anchors the Soul

As I get back into the challenge game, I was inspired by the color combination at Color Throwdown this week and pulled some older stamp sets from my shelf.

I knew I had pattern paper in this color combination, I added some stamped images and dies to create a liquid shaker.

I love the look, but I'm nervous about my "liquid" leaking or air getting in the bag.  I suppose time will tell.

I hope you had the opportunity to get creative today.

Taking the Positive with the Negativie - Take 2

I'm big on negative and positive dies, and using both to create cards.  Several weeks back I had my first post showing an example of how I use pieces from both. I'm back today to show another example.

I won't lie about this one.  Whether it's my water technique piece or just me being me, I like my negative die card better.  But here are both . . .

I started with a watercolor panel and used a die to cut.  On my positive die piece, I put sentiments on the base of my card and then popped the die on top and created a shaker card.

Yep - it's o.k.  But the negative pieces.  Never throw them away!  I love my negative piece card even more! Entering this one below in Use Your Stuff.  The inspiration there was stripes!  STRIPES!

I encourage you all to show your negative/positive die pieces! Now go create.

To the Beach and Back

Took a stab at a CAS card for CAS Colours & Sketches.  This week they had a color challenge.

CAS cards are not always easy for me, so I tried to keep some white space, and tried not to have too much layering of my elements, which is where the colors from the challenge came into play.

I hope you have a chance to inky and sparkly today.

Refuse to Sink - Cardz 4 Guyz Inspired

I created this card for Cardz 4 Guyz.  The challenge was to use a die as the main feature of the card.

And so I created a nautical wheel using an awesome die from Catherine Poolder Designs and some crazy cool embossing powder from Wow.  It's a bit different for sure.  Love that powder.

I hope you were able to find some time to create today.
