It's Snow Time

My card today was inspired by Just Add Ink. The prompt was to:

Snow and a skiing bunny . . . that's certainly seasonal!

I stamped tone on tone on my card base. My torn, snowflake background was created using some shaving cream and reinkers, along with some metallic paint. I do love this technique, but it's a bit messy. Winter is messy too!

My skiing bunny was a watercolor image from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I hope you find some time to get messy and inky!

Making a Christmas card in January? Not sure what I was thinking, except that I was inspired by the challenge at Time Out Challenges

Not a shaker card, but it gives that appearance.

What's not to love about a little sparkle.

Hope your day sparkles!

Missing You

My card today was inspired by the sketch at TGIF Challenges.

I pulled this Concord & 9th set from one of the Scrapbook & Cards today sets. Some about white and kraft makes me happy. And then add the splash of color in the flower centers.

I hope you find some time to gt sketchy!

Encouraging Cards

Today's card is an encouragement theme, inspired by the prompt at Just Us Girls.

I pulled out some old supplies from a Simon Says Stamp kit (purging the boxes in the new year) and on of my favorite sets for encouraging sentiments from Catherine Pooler Designs. I couldn't stop at one, of course, because my goal was to empty the box of cardstock and pattern paper. I have three cards today, all of them centered around encouragement and using the sentiments as the focal points, stamping on pattern papers.

I used similar layouts on these cards, merely swapping out the patterns, colors, sentiments and stamps.

Love a good stripe as a border, so for this one used the black and white "words" pattern with the colorful rainbow pattern above that.

This second one is my favorite, I think because of the bright yellow background. I'm also a fan of those hexagons that were stamped on the background.

And then this final one is basically a portrait flip of the first one. Instead of rainbow colors across, we have them running down the card.

All super easy and fun cards inspired by encouragement sentiments. And I have an empty box out of my craft room. But the big question . . . did I free up space or just make room more new stuff.

I'll never tell.

I hope you find some time to create some encouragement today.

Debbie

Winter Greetings

My card today was inspired by the "fence" prompt at Creative Friday. There is something about fences that I just love, especially a good picket fence. It's like a home sweet home thing.

For this card I started with my fence die and some other items that came with it. I let my pattern papers determine my colors. The strip down the left side matches my birds perfectly.

One thing I love about Catherine Pooler's pattern papers, they match the inks just perfectly. No guessing required.

Such a fun scene . . . it's reminding me that we need to bring our bird feeder out for the season.

I hope you have some fun playing with inks and paper!

Snow-rific Birthday, Inspired by "Cold"

A chilly winter card inspired by the Inkspirational challenge. The prompt there was cold, and what's colder than snowmen and snowflakes.

Lots of sparkle and shine on this card. I used a Catherine Pooler set that was perfect for winter birthdays.

Included a window to capture the inside sentiment.

Challenge for your day . . . create something sparkly and cold!

Until We Meet Again . . .

My card today was inspired by the color inspiration at Color Dare. I had used a stencil to create a bullet journal page, and when I do that I like to spray the panel with water and try to create a watercolor background fitting for a card. I never want waste all that excess ink. This particular stencil was lengthy, so I created a slimline card.

I turned this one into a sympathy card for a pet, as it seemed like the perfect rainbow bridge card. I'm always needing some of those, and while I don't love the occasion, I do love how this card turned out.

I love how the sweet little dog is just sitting on the cloud. I may have to intentionally create some additional panels like this one.

Give this a try when you have your next inky stencil. It will often surprise you.

CAS Hello Card

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Little Red Wagon. The prompt there was one word.

I went with a simple, single word . . . hello. I had this new set from Catherine Pooler Designs, and I used pattern paper as my focal point for this card. I stacked four layers of letters to get the dimension on this card.

I love the shades of color in this pattern paper pack. I let the dies in my kit do all the talking on this one.

I hope you find some time to create something fabulous today.

Let's Have a Ball

I needed to break out of Christmas card mode, so I made a winter themed birthday card and knew just the stamp set to make that happen. The colors and snowy theme were inspired by Cupcake Inspirations

This little snow dude is surrounded by snowflakes and loads of glimmer which I tried to capture below.

Who wouldn't want a juggling snowman to celebrate a birthday?

Glitter something today!

Holly Jolly for 52 Christmas Throwdown

Today's card is inspired by the October sketch at 52 Christmas Throwdown. It was my pick from this past year's sketches.

I did shift some elements a bit in my card, and I chose an ornament instead of a tree. I also used a fair amount of pattern paper for my elements.

That ornament paper background began my inspiration for this card, and is why I shifted to an ornament for the focal point.

Another Christmas card for my stash.

Get creative!

Treats for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

I love cookies! I think they are likely my favorite treat, even over candy, cakes and pies. So they were my pick for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge. Since the holidays are upon us, I also decided to go with a holiday card.

I crated a few cookies for inside my shaker, and I dropped a few "candies" in the jar as well.

As much as I love cookies, I never make cookies. I feel like I never want to open that door to have them around. Every year I say I'm going to make them, and I never do. Perhaps this will be the year.

My favorite cookie is the Russian Teacake . . . those little round snowballs of delicious salty/sweet.

What's your favorite?

Heat Embossing Goodness!

Another holiday card today, and this one was inspired by the challenge prompt at Christmas Card Throwdown. The current challenge is a technique challenge to use foil or hot embossing. I went with heat embossing for my card, and I used both gold and clear.

I have a number of sets with holiday lights. I used a Stampin' Up set in my stash that came with a punch. My gold embossing is in the center ring, in the base of the bulbs, the sentiment, and the edges of the cardstock panel.

I used the clear embossing for each of my bulbs, stamping them with varying colors of ink and then triple embossing them with clear embossing powder to get the maximum shine.

Time-consuming, but worth the results for these bulps.

Heat-gun goodness. Nothing more satisfying than melting embossing powder.

Thinking of You

My card today was inspired by Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I technically hit two rows but was originally going down the middle column. The florals in my stamped butterfly images also cover the bottom row. I created these cards using some Catherine Pooler products in my stash.

I went with the monochromatic color scheme and love the results. These sets all complimented each other so well.

Enjoy the time you spend in your crafty space.

Let it Snow for Little Red Wagon

My goodness, it's been a while! I've been crafty but lurking in the background. I've decided to check-in to the challenge world again to be inspired by the prompts as well as all the participants' amazing creations from week to week, so here I am.

Taking my first inspiration from Little Red Wagon's Christmas in July prompt.

A gray stenciled background, and who doesn't love a truck with a tree over the holidays.

I love pulling products from different companies when making creations. I really mixed it up today, and I hope you have a chance to mix things up in your craft space!

Season's Greetings in Spring Colors

Oh my! I'm not sure where I've been. I have not posted any creations in quite some time. Life gets in the way!

Today's card was inspired by the color combination at Color Dare

I love these soft pastels and decided to use some darker shades to fade into some colorful watercolor snowflakes in the lighter shades.

I love how the color bleeds out from the snowflakes. Watercoloring can be so relaxing.

I hope you find some time to relax with some fun creating.

What if I Fail . . . Oh but . . .

Today's card was inspired by the Tic Tac Toe Challenge board.

Here's my card . . .

And here's the challenge board . . .

By way of explanation, I went down from the middle row. Kraft carstock, which is amazing in the right places. A die cut, which was stamped, and then a color medium which for me was my Copic markers.

Here's my image . . . went darker with Pooh because it was vintage Pooh in my humble opinion.

And the inside, where the inspirational message appears . . .

My recipient will fly!

Just Choose Two Creation

Today's card was inspired by the Just Choose Two Options at Just Add Ink

For my options, I chose the sentiment and the embossing. I did some embossing on my background with an ink resist technique, and I also embossed my sentiment.

My colors were inspired by the pattern paper that I chose from Catherine Pooler Designs. I love how their inks match their pattern paper packs perfectly.

Find some time to be creative - never a bad decision.

Color Dare - Hello Card

I had a busy weekend using supplies that were collecting over the last several months on the side of my desk. When I saw the color combination at Color Dare Challenge, I grabbed some pattern paper that was left from a class I had taken several months ago.

This is an example of letting your pattern paper do the work for you and finding the right card layout to highlight the paper.
