Soda Pop Creations!

While I mostly make cards these days, I do make scrapbook pages once in a while.  When my layout is complete, I will typically take the leftover supplies and trim them down into card-sized panels and pieces.  I remembered having those supplies, and with two challenges in mind, I went digging through my shoe box of scraps.  I pulled out some pieces to make a card honoring one of my favorite beverages, root beer. I gave up soda a year ago, and man do I miss my diet root beer!

Again, keep in mind that the paper was leftover from a layout.  The colors in this card were inspired by Club Cool, an attraction at EPCOT at Walt Disney World.

Stamp Ink Paper inspired this first one . . . #146, which is food or drink.

That colorful strip of paper reminds me of bubbles.

And a bottle and straw for the inside of the card . . .

And while this next one is not CAS, I was inspired by the code word "bubbles" from Addicted to CAS.  Perhaps a little busy for CAS, but I was inspired none the less.  And because I had more supplies, I just had to make another.

It has an open bottle . . . and the sequins are like bubbles.  My imagination runs wild.

Such a fun stamp set to pull back out and play with.

And remember . . . I said there was a layout where these scraps came from. Created it back in January.  Club Cool!  Soda pop from around the world.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Debbie

Sunshine Shaker

Combining two challenges to create this morning's card . . . a color challenge from Colour Me and a photo inspiration from my online happy place, StampNation

Here is my card . . .

And here was the inspiration for the card . . .

The color inspiration speaks for itself, and I will say these are some awesome colors together.  What intrigued me on the photo of the bottle was the glittery images up against the glass container.  It inspired me to create a flat shaker with flat confetti where it is pressed against the clear plastic window.

My first flat shaker!  I definitely want to make more.

I hope you find some creative time today!

C.A.S.E. A Card Blog Hop

Welcome to the CASE a Card Blog Hop!

CASE a Card Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be a part of a blog hop today!  What makes it even more fun is that this is a CASE a Card Blog Hop.

Remember the old kids game, Telephone? You know the one where a secret is told to the first person in line and then they tell what they think they heard to the next person and they tell the next person and so on and so on.  At the end of the line, the person says what they heard and the first person tells what they originally said and laughter erupts because the two things are nothing alike.

Well today's hop plays that game, but with card making instead of secrets.

This hop is un-like any you've probably ever been too.

We took one card created by Theresa from ScrapsByGracie and sent it to the next blogger who then C.A.S.E.d the card (copy and steal everything) and sent her card on to the next blogger who C.A.S.E.d it and sent her card to the next blogger.  You get the idea.

When you are done hopping you'll see how different or maybe how similar the last card is to the first.

So let's get hopping.

If you are just coming across my blog and and you'd like to start from the beginning to see the progression, please visit Scraps by Gracie, where the blog kicks off.

If you've arrived here from Marine Wife's Scrappin' Life, you are in the right place.  Here is Ashley's card, which I set out to CASE for the hop.  Can I just say that the flowers on the fence are absolutely amazing!  I knew there was no way I was touching that beautiful scene.

It is amazing that when you have similar tools to work with, your card just takes on a life of it's own.  Ashley, inspired me with a few different things on her card.  First was the fence (although I knew that my fence die was considerably smaller so that flower scene was not going to happen for me).  Second was that right hand border on the card - which I loved!  Third was the critters with the puns . . . bees with a "buzzing" sentiment!  I knew I needed to have some sort of critter with a pun.  And finally, she was creative on the inside of her card too . . .

I cut my fence.  I cut my right border.  Then I made coffee and pondered my stash of stamps and dies to figure out what critters were small enough in comparison with my picket fence die. Here is where I landed . . .

Now I will tell you that I also was inspired by her dry embossed background, which I attempted, for I needed something that would really make my bunnies pop and ended up going with pattern paper.  I also ended up flipping my card horizontally because I needed the ground space.

I used my Copic markers to color the dresses, flowers, and wagon.  I then went in with a Signo Uniball white pen to enhance the buttons, pockets and collars of the dresses as well as the centers on all of the flowers.  Not noticeable in the photo is some Wink of Stella on the flowers.

And of course . . . I followed suit and decorated the inside of my card too. Thanks for inspiring me, Ashley!

Don't forget to follow and comment on each of the blogs to be entered into the prize drawing.  Theresa is giving away a great goodie box filled with crafting supplies.

Winner will be posted on Theresa's blog on Wednesday and the winner will have 7 days to claim their prize.

And now you are off to see the next creation, which is Jessica of Stampin and Craftin

Kit Kraft Wednesday - Leftovers!

Tomorrow is that one day a year where leftovers are part of the fun, but this post isn't about Thanksgiving leftovers . . . no turkey, potatoes or stuffing . . . this is about using leftovers from my Button Farm Kit, specifically a kit from two years ago.  I created these two cards for two challenges. I love that I was able to use both paper and embellishments from this kit.

First up is the Less is More challenge, which was "Jingle All the Way."  For this challenge, I went with bells, as they were leftover from my kit.

There was no stamping on this card, except for the inside sentiment.  I had stickers left to use for the sentiment on the front of the card.

For my second card, I used this week's Muse card for inspiration.  Here is there card . . .

I was inspired by the overlapping tags and the way that the sentiment and the elements overlap the tags.  Here is my card . . .

This card has minimal stamping.  It's all about the combination of these great pattern papers.  The hounds-tooth background along with the musical note paper for the tags, the beige pattern paper for the tag toppers, and the chevron stripe paper for the ornament is a combination that works very well together.  I used stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.

Two great challenges and an opportunity to use supplies on hand!  Can't as for more than that on a Wednesday.  Hope you find some time to create over this long holiday weekend.

Watercolor Creation for MFT and colourQ

I am absolutely loving the look of watercolor creations, and I wanted to try my hand at it to create a card using the Grand Peaceful Wildflowers set and the sketch posted by MFT's Wednesday's Stamp Club. The inspiration for my color palette came from colourQ

What I love most about watercolor creations is that your image looks different each and every time based on the amount ink, the amount of water and the amount of pressure.  I just love how these images came out on these tiny 3/4" squares.

I've been bit by the watercolor bug!
