You and Coffee for Just Add Ink

Cleaning out my craft room and found an old card kit from Simon Says Stamp.  It caught my eye, because it was stamps and paper relative to coffee and tea. So when the challenge for Just Add Ink came up this week, I went straight to the box.

I used pattern papers and did some fussy cutting to create cut my stamped cup images and the sleeves.

And some stamping on pattern papers rounds it all out.

One day I may get smart and create like crazy with a kit . . . meaning less boxes in my craft room.

One day!

I hope you find some time to get inky today.

Debbie

Fresh Coffee!

The prompt this week at CASology is FRESH!

I'm a big fan of coffee . . . I drink it black . . . and if there is one thing I like fresh, it's coffee.  Nothing like a fresh cup of coffee.  I'm a coffee snob.

I dug out this old kit from Simon Says stamp, and while the kit may be old, that little cup of coffee is fresh!

I hope you find some time to create today!

Donut worry, be happy!

A bit of a pun for CASology.   And perhaps a little fun in creating as well . . .

These were all supplies from a past Simon Says Stamp Card kit.  Yep . . . donut worry, be happy.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Lots of Love for Color Throwdown

Did a little creating for Color Throwdown, and here is the result . . .

I used pattern paper with the two shades of pink and the gray.  I love the folded element of this card.  It gives nice dimension.

The shades may be a bit different . . . I'm a little less fuchsia.  (A little less fuchsia?  I'm not sure I know what that means.)

StampNation News and Some Challenge Cards

Sharing some news from my favorite crafty place, and a couple of cards to share as well.

First, my crafty place, StampNation, is having their 5th birthday celebration.  When I say that StampNation is my favorite crafty place, I could not mean it more.  I love everything about it and have since I joined over four years ago.

For the birthday celebration, it is all about stencils.  StampNation has a stencil class going on this past week and heading into next week.  There are videos and tutorials, and the membership is posting their take on the lessons.  It's all about stencils.  If you have stencils and ink, or even if you don't . . . it's a place for inspiration.  I hope you will check it out.  Here is a sneak peek of a card I created using stencils.  This is one with a masculine flair . . .

You can check out the full card on StampNation.

And now to share a few cards.  Here is one created for CAS on Sunday.  Their challenge this week was a winter card.

A winter thank you card seemed appropriate--it's chilly this week.  I let the pattern paper do the talking, and I stamped a monotone sentiment.

And my second card today was created for Mojo Monday.  One of the things I like to do with sketches is flip them.  And that's what I did today.  Here is the sketch . . .

 And here is my card . . . flipped a bit . . .

You never have to fully follow a sketch exactly.  You can take a little creative license, which I did here.

This is a pretty Clean and Simple card.  I used supplies from last year's Simon Says Stamp card kit from February . . . I must be thinking ahead to clean out the old supplies, and bring in the new.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Two Kits/Two Cards

I have two cards to share with you today.  First up is a card I created for Colour Me Challenge.  This one started as monochromatic, but I somehow ended up adding the strip of black pattern paper so it would match my puffy stickers.

Sometimes when I create cards, I will just pull a kit from my stash, open it, and get busy.  I ended up pulling a Studio Calico kit for this one, and once open realized that aside from a piece of blue cardstock and that blue paper clip, there was there was no other blue in the kit.  But I gave myself a secondary challenge to use that kit, and conquered that with the stamp set.

The second card is for Freshly Made Sketches where I used supplies from February's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  The sketch is posted down with the supply list for the card.

One of the things I love about the set that came with the kit is the image of the paper clip heart.  I used silver embossing powder and they just pop on this kraft cardstock.

I hope you can fit a little creation time into your day today!

Crossed the Border to Shabby Chic for The Card Concept

I swear this started Clean and Layered, but I think it borders on Shabby Chic with the addition of the doily, the banners, the twine and the heart stones.

Here is the inspiration photo at The Card Concept . . .

I started out thinking I was going to cut all those little cupcakes out, but before I knew it they were creating their own little border  I went with it.  I just love this color combination . . . the desert storm cardstock with the white and the pink.  Right up my alley!

And that Pretty Pink Posh die that cuts the little banners also cuts the little hearts and stars.  Be still my heart!

So fun to play along with this week's challenge, even if I seemed to lose control at some point.

Creativity Catch Up for CASology and StampNation

I'm into the fifth week of school, and am really feeling "blah" from my lack of creativity.  So I decided to play a little catch up today and create a few cards that I will post throughout the week. Here is one that I created with two challenges for inspiration.

Inspired by the CASology Cue Card this week, which was "love", and inspired by StampNation's challenge this week for a stamp with a heart, here is a little something I cooked up . . .

The heart die was popped using some Sookwang Scor-tape that I rolled horizontally, a little tip I learned from a member of StampNation.  One of my favorite things about StampNation is the knowledge sharing from the amazing membership there.  It is my go to place for creativity.

Rolling horizontally, you ask?  Basically, you take a length of tape, lay it down on a surface such as a cutting mat or a craft mat, and you roll the long side to make a very long string of glue that is super thin and bends with your project.  It gives a little dimension too, which is awesome.

Hard to notice, but I also embossed hearts onto the pattern paper inside my heart frame.  They were embossed using a new powder from Ranger that has a little bit of sparkle.

One-layer cards are usually pretty tough for me, but this one came pretty easily.

I cannot wait for my class to be over so I can get back to creating on a more regular basis.  My "heart" needs paper, glue and ink a whole lot more than statistics, scatter plots and predictive models.  I've definitely learned that in the last five weeks!

I hope you find time to create when you can!

You Matter for Card Concept

I created a clean and layered, card for The Card Concept . . .

The cardstock, pattern paper and stamp set are from my February Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  I added a few supplies of my own.

Piecing together die cuts is like putting a jigsaw together.  The hardest part is keeping track of all the little pieces.

Into My Heart

I came home from work today, and as I entered my bedroom my precious pup, Samantha, was there to greet me.  I noticed a tremendously deep indentation in my pillows, and I went over and pressed my hand on it.  It was warm.  It occurred to me that while I was away, she went to the spot where she could be closest to me while I was away.

She didn't go to my husband's side of the bed.

She didn't go to the end, side, or middle of the bed.

She went to the spot that was mine.

Samantha . . . "You have carved your way into my heart."

A card inspired by "my baby girl."
