Gnome for the Holidays

Created this card inspired by the photo at The Card Concept.  My original inspiration was that photo, but then I decided to create a "home" for my gnome.  A few mediums used on this one . . . mixed media was my style.  I used a stencil to cut my house and then some black ink to sponge in the windows, and door.

My door knob is Stone Drops from Nuvo.  My snow on the roof top is Glitz Glitter Gel.

And some Stickles for dimension on the beard.

I hope you find some time to create!

Colorful Birthday for Sweet Stampin'

I stamped a bunch of colorful gifts last weekend using one of my newer stamp sets and then die cut and bagged them up.  And now to create! When I saw the prompt at Sweet Stampin' for a birthday card, I pulled out lots of supplies and spruced up my dies with some sparkle.

For this card I cut my front panel an inch shorter, and my gifts are hanging off the edge, overlapping top to bottom.  I love the look!

I can't wait to create with the rest of my "bag of gifts".  Tiny, colorful and fun!

Emboss Resist . . . Green and Red

I chose an emboss resist technique for this card, and I definitely kept my red and green separate with a band of white.  No one needs "mud".  Inspired this week by 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

I love the subtly of those ornaments in the background.  That white embossing powder pops a bit.

I used a silver cardstock for my "jolly" die.

I hope you find some time to create today . . . tomorrow . . . the weekend is coming.

Non-traditional Holiday Colors - Coffee Flip-its

Some non-traditional Christmas colors for Little Red Wagon.  These retro colors are one of my favorite color combinations.  I made a few different versions and am showing two below . . .

Let the "flipping" begin!

One flip . . .

Two flips . . .

Love these interactive cards!

Retro paper that reminds me of 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney World.  And a gift card slips into that last flip.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Thank You for Always Fun

It's interesting that when I do the Always Fun Challenge, I try to make sure that I have fun with a good technique.  I love playing with stencils and different types pastes, gels, inks, and crazy techniques. So that's the direction that I went with this one.

This was a stencil I had not yet used, but I love the result.

There is something that is "always fun" about lifting that stencil to see the result.

I used one of Nuvo's Embellishment Mousses for this one. Check out that sheen!

I hope you find some time to create . . . with a stencil if possible.

Taking the Positive with the Negativie - Take 2

I'm big on negative and positive dies, and using both to create cards.  Several weeks back I had my first post showing an example of how I use pieces from both. I'm back today to show another example.

I won't lie about this one.  Whether it's my water technique piece or just me being me, I like my negative die card better.  But here are both . . .

I started with a watercolor panel and used a die to cut.  On my positive die piece, I put sentiments on the base of my card and then popped the die on top and created a shaker card.

Yep - it's o.k.  But the negative pieces.  Never throw them away!  I love my negative piece card even more! Entering this one below in Use Your Stuff.  The inspiration there was stripes!  STRIPES!

I encourage you all to show your negative/positive die pieces! Now go create.

Texture from Negative Border Die Pieces

A little bit of texture for Seize the Birthday challenge.  My texture was added using the negative pieces from a border die that I saved on my desk.  I have this tray of unending small pieces.

I let my pattern paper pave the way for where my sentiment and those texture pieces would go.

I hope you find some time to use your negative cover plate die pieces.
