Real Deal and Hello for The Card Concept and Color Throwdown.

Hello again!  I was creative this weekend.

If you're looking for the CASE a Card Blog Hop - Click here to continue on the hop.

And again, if you didn't know about the hop, highly recommend you check it out as it's a great hop that shows the progression of card as it is CASE'd from one person to another (and there is a prize).

I have two more cards to share this afternoon.  My "go to place" for inspiration - StampNation - was having a virtual retreat this past week.  I wanted to share a few more cards that I created there that were mixed with some other challenges.

First up . . . for The Card Concept . . . they had an amazing inspiration photo . . .

I immediately thought of a deck of cards, but was also drawn to those chevrons in the photo.  I set out to create and Clean and Layered card.  One of the challenges at StampNation was to try a new technique.  So I wanted to do layering of stencils.

The spade, heart, diamond and club were stenciled onto the white cardstock first, and then I used a second stencil to add the chevron embossing.

I used an opaque embossing paste and some glitter.  I was pleased with how it turned out, as it will be an awesome masculine card (and we all need those).

My next card was for Color Throwdown, whose color scheme this week was . . .

Daisies . . . Kathleen Kelly's favorite flower in You've Got Mail.  StampNation had challenged us to make a thinking of your or miss you card.  So here is my card . . .

I used up supplies from a kit from The Stamps of Life, and just added some ink, Stickles and metallic spray.

I hope you found some time to create today!

Tangled Kitty for Merry Monday and Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends . . .

If you're looking for the CASE a Card Blog Hop - Click here to continue on the hop.

And if you didn't know about the hop, highly recommend you check it out as it's a great hop that shows the progression of card as it is CASE'd from one person to another (and there is a prize).

So today I have two cards to share.  The first is for Merry Monday  where the challenge was to use a cat or a dog on your card.  Here is my card . . .

Lots of white space on that card, which I love but don't do often.  I used Copic markers to color the lights, and then put a touch of Stickles on them.

My second card is for Freshly Made Sketches.  The sketch is noted below with the supply list.  Here is my card . . .

Love these adorable House Mouse images.   One of the challenges at StampNation this week was to create a card using one of your favorite snacks during a crop.  I love chocolate, but I try to stick with eating a single serving of Jelly Belly jelly beans.  Those little things pack some flavor.  So that was the inspiration for the card.

Look close for that shimmer of Wink of Stella on all of those beans.  Hope you find some time to create today!

Supplies Used - Light Up the Holidays

C.A.S.E. A Card Blog Hop

Welcome to the CASE a Card Blog Hop!

CASE a Card Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be a part of a blog hop today!  What makes it even more fun is that this is a CASE a Card Blog Hop.

Remember the old kids game, Telephone? You know the one where a secret is told to the first person in line and then they tell what they think they heard to the next person and they tell the next person and so on and so on.  At the end of the line, the person says what they heard and the first person tells what they originally said and laughter erupts because the two things are nothing alike.

Well today's hop plays that game, but with card making instead of secrets.

This hop is un-like any you've probably ever been too.

We took one card created by Theresa from ScrapsByGracie and sent it to the next blogger who then C.A.S.E.d the card (copy and steal everything) and sent her card on to the next blogger who C.A.S.E.d it and sent her card to the next blogger.  You get the idea.

When you are done hopping you'll see how different or maybe how similar the last card is to the first.

So let's get hopping.

If you are just coming across my blog and and you'd like to start from the beginning to see the progression, please visit Scraps by Gracie, where the blog kicks off.

If you've arrived here from Marine Wife's Scrappin' Life, you are in the right place.  Here is Ashley's card, which I set out to CASE for the hop.  Can I just say that the flowers on the fence are absolutely amazing!  I knew there was no way I was touching that beautiful scene.

It is amazing that when you have similar tools to work with, your card just takes on a life of it's own.  Ashley, inspired me with a few different things on her card.  First was the fence (although I knew that my fence die was considerably smaller so that flower scene was not going to happen for me).  Second was that right hand border on the card - which I loved!  Third was the critters with the puns . . . bees with a "buzzing" sentiment!  I knew I needed to have some sort of critter with a pun.  And finally, she was creative on the inside of her card too . . .

I cut my fence.  I cut my right border.  Then I made coffee and pondered my stash of stamps and dies to figure out what critters were small enough in comparison with my picket fence die. Here is where I landed . . .

Now I will tell you that I also was inspired by her dry embossed background, which I attempted, for I needed something that would really make my bunnies pop and ended up going with pattern paper.  I also ended up flipping my card horizontally because I needed the ground space.

I used my Copic markers to color the dresses, flowers, and wagon.  I then went in with a Signo Uniball white pen to enhance the buttons, pockets and collars of the dresses as well as the centers on all of the flowers.  Not noticeable in the photo is some Wink of Stella on the flowers.

And of course . . . I followed suit and decorated the inside of my card too. Thanks for inspiring me, Ashley!

Don't forget to follow and comment on each of the blogs to be entered into the prize drawing.  Theresa is giving away a great goodie box filled with crafting supplies.

Winner will be posted on Theresa's blog on Wednesday and the winner will have 7 days to claim their prize.

And now you are off to see the next creation, which is Jessica of Stampin and Craftin

Two Birds and a Dog for CASE this Sketch and Color Dare Challenges

Happy Wednesday! Appropriate that as I created these cards last night.  As I was creating a card with a dog and a card with some birds, my dog was barking at doves in our backyard.  We have lots of different bird species that visit our feeder, but she has no tolerance for the doves.  She will tolerate the finches, the tufted titmouse, the chickadees, the cardinals, the sparrows . . . but she goes berserk the minute a dove shows.

I have two creations today.   The first is for CASE this Sketch.  Here is the sketch . . .

And here is my card . . .

I couldn't wait to create a card with this bird cage die, which was this month's club set at The Stamps of Life.  Adorable little dies . . . and that "tweet" sentiment!

And then second was the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge.  Here is the color palette . . .

And here is my card . . .

These were some new sets in my collection of CTMH stamps.  I used the five colors across that border stamp, and then matched up the colors with the balloons.   There is an actual break between those two white panels, which has a recessed band of Black Shimmer Trim.  Love some sparkle!

Now, go get inky!

Virtual Retreat w/My Crafty Group, StampNation

I have two cards to share with you this morning.

First, as you know, StampNation is my crafty place to go for inspiration.  I talk about them alot.  It is a site that I pay for . . . a quarter and a nickel a day.  It is the most amazing group of crafty individuals, and so supportive and encouraging of each other's work.  This week they are having a "virtual retreat" and so these cards were created using their challenge inspiration in combination with two other challenges.

So first up - StampNation challenged us to use only one stamp set, three ink pads and one type of embellishment on a card.  I had been looking at Just Us Girls challenge which was to use white, brown and one other color on a card.  So here goes . . .

One stamp set . . . white, brown and red . . . and some ribbon.

Love that adorable little bunny!

StampNation's second challenge of the week was to create a card using transportation.  I used a sketch from Happy Little Stampers - their April Sketch.
And then I channeled my last trip on I-95, which is the highway that runs north/south on the east coast of the United States.  Can you say traffic . . .

Lots and lots of traffic.  Hard to see, but there is Liquid Glass on all the car windows, and sequins for the hub caps.

Fun cards to make!  I hope you find some time to create this week.

Studio Calico Product for The Card Concept and Colour Me Challenges

I have two cards to share with you today, both using product from Studio Calico card kits.

First up is this week's inspiration photo at The Card Concept

Now, last week I was shabby chic, and this week I decided to shift to clean and simple.  I started with pattern paper, the lined paper with the black and white floral at the bottom.  My stamps had leaves and flowers together on one stamp, so I carefully inked my floral stamps to keep my flower colors separate from my leaves, and then stamped my flowers and leaves onto the top of that pattern paper.  I wanted a contrast of color to black and white.

I then added my sentiment in black ink and finished off with some sequins.

Next up was a card I created for Colour Me challenge.  I used a sketch from my online craft group, StampNation.  Here is my card . . .

My blueberries are a little light.  I used the suggested ink color from the challenge along with a Dove blender pen.

Always fun to play along; hope you found some time to create today.
