Embossed City Scene for Paper Smooches SPARKS

I love the opportunity to play with my Paper Smooches stamps, and I loved this week's inspirational photo at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.  When I first saw the photo, I was stuck for a moment because I couldn't think of anything "lacy" about my PS stamps.  But the more I looked, the more I saw embossing.  It was like the edges of what appears to be a lacy votive candle holder were embossed edges that had been trimmed out.

So that's where I took my inspiration, and I got busy Wednesday night creating!  I had to emboss and then trim so those embossed edges were defined like lace.

So here is my design . . .

I used white embossing powder on the cityscape, and a pewter for the road, the cab and the sentiment.  I trimmed out both cityscape pieces and layered one over the other, and then trimmed out my cab and layered that as well.   The embossed edges were inspired from the photo.

The cab added that little bit of candle glow.  I love to emboss, so this was a fun card to create.

Supplies Used

American Crafts and Bazzill Cardstock
Pattern Paper from my Scrap Bin
Stamps from Paper Smooches
Zing Embossing Powder from American Crafts
Ribbon from Denami
