One Watercolor Background - Two Cards

I love creating with both positive and negative pieces of dies.  Posting two cards today where I put my negative pieces to use.

First, I created watercolor background with some emboss resist.  Then I cut it with a cover die.

The first card uses the full die . . .

Submitting this one to Watercooler Wednesday challenge, which had the prompt occasions!  This one is going to a friend who is newly engaged.  I put this one on a white background.   I stacked my sentiment die on a layered tag.

I then cut another die using cream cardstock and used pieces from the die as pops of color/elements for my flowers. I used a sketch from one of my favorite crafty plates.  Submitting this one to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies

I always love using my extra pieces.

I hope you find some time to create, and perhaps use extra pieces that might otherwise land in the trash!

Sharing a card inspired by Christmas Card Throwdown which had the prompt of "Snowflake" this week.

I used one of my favorite border dies from Catherine Pooler Designs and a pack of paper that has been at my fingertips for holiday/winter creations these days.

And pink!  There was some pink.

I hope you find some time to create today.

StampNation Inspired

Sharing a card inspired my favorite crafty place, StampNation.  They have some weekly inspiration going on right now and this week had a watercolor technique that I'd not tried before.

I created the watercolor background with reinkers.  I love adding the cover plate die, as it hides any of the parts of the watercolor that I might not have been fond of.

I hope you found some time to create today.

Toucan Do It for Color Throwdown

Saw the colors at Color Throwdown and was inspired to create.

Used a watercolor background that had the colors in the sketch, blue, purple, light blue, and green, and cut it with a cover plate die.

Then added just enough color for my toucan, who needed some spot of yellow.  I used a blender pen to color my images, which were on regular cardstock.

I have another watercolor panel and may need to create a similar card in that color scheme . . . but that's slated for another day.

I hope you found some time to create today, and if not, there is always tomorrow.

Handcrafted Hello Inspired by Freshly Made Sketches

The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches sparked my creativity.  I pulled down a box of supplies from a kit and went to work.  I started by creating a watercolor piece to represent one of those borders.

Build my design on a colored cardstock base . . . steering away from my typical white base.

Go find something to create!

Celebrate Envelope for The Card Concept

I got a bit crafty today, inspired by the challenge at The Card Concept.  I never know quite where I fall from a style perspective.  I think this one is still clean and layered, even though I used a bulky element when creating this card.

I was mostly inspired by the background color and the bright blooms.  I had these envelopes which were supposed to be an envelope album.  But I've been saving those for cards, a gift card could tuck in nicely, or a personal note.  I used some coordinating paper to stamp on.  So I stamped my sentiments and cut my Celebrate die, and then assembled this card.

I hope you find some time to create today.
